Conceived, built, and shipped during InnoHack 2026 at Informatics College Pokhara under the Tourism and Hospitality theme, The Yatri addresses a widespread travel dilemma: most visitors cluster around a handful of commercial tourist traps while authentic local culture, artisans, and hidden architectural gems remain undiscovered.

The platform transforms travel exploration into an interactive adventure. Users receive curated exploration quests that lead them beyond standard guidebooks into historic alleys, local food stalls, and community landmarks. To overcome communication barriers with local hosts, a built-in smart language translation assistant helps travelers engage respectfully and effectively.

As travelers complete location check-ins and cultural activities, they earn badges and reward points redeemable with local participating partners. Engineered collaboratively by the Neo Spark software guild, The Yatri secured 1st place in the hackathon competition.
